Hey there, 

I thought I would play along with My Creative Sketches.  I just love there sketch this month.  I used some of the goodies that I got in the kit of the month club for April at Flying Unicorn.  They have a contest going on for the month of May that will inspire you to break out those flowers.  I personally have a heard time creating a page that does not have at least some flowers.  Here is the sketch I used.

This is me and my daughter on vacation in Mexico.  I have so many picture from that trip that I really need to get my but in gear and start scrapping them.  so consider this the first.  Hopefully between this Flower Fantasy month at Flying Unicorn and National Scrapbooking Day this weekend I'll be able to start working on these pictures.  I did alot of fussy cutting on this page!  I really like the way this came out.  I'm also playing along at Shopping Our Stash for there Anything Girly.



Last Heartfelt Wednesday!

I'm a little sad posting this last post for Heartfelt Creations project!  I can't believe a year has already gone by, I had so much fun designing for HC but it will be nice to stand by and watch what the other designers do!  They have another amazing design team for this term!  I just love there products so I'll still be playing along with the alumny just without the deadlines.  Well I thought I'd create a layout for my last HC project... Here is what I came up with...

I just love the way the flower cluster came out on this page.  As always please check out what the rest of the designers came up with this week.  I did have a little bit of additional inspitation for this project.  I love playing around with some of the challenge sites in blogger and I found a few that were really interesting to me.  Kraft It Up has a great challenge on right now we had to use Kraft cardstockas the base and we had to add another 3 kraft items to the page as well so I have the border piece, the photo mat and the alpha blocks where printed on kraft.

I also used the sketch over at Bird is the Word... this is fast becoming another favorite site for there incredible inspiration.  The word was... as if you couldn't guess Future, I used the Eleanor Rosevelt quote... "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of there dreams."

Cowboy Thing! With HC

For my project this week I cam up with another simple layout... It seams to be getting easier to come up with masculine pages thanks to these amazing stamps.  Here is what I came up with.

The stamping was colored with distress inks and I love that the stamps come with matching dies so what would normally take a long time to cut out takes only minutes with the dies!  Makes life so much easier.  Don't forget to leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog for your chance to win the entire new collection!  I'm playing along with Shopping our Stash this week... Birthday card (Heartfelt Creations)

Well I was playing around with my stamps and I came up with a few quick and simple card idea's.  I actually did a masculine and feminine card using the same design.  I really like the way these came out!

My kind of guy (Heartfelt Creations)

It's Wednesday!  Is it just me or is time just speeding by lately!  Seams like everytime I turn around it is another Wednesday!  Well I'm happy to share another Heartfelt Creations layout with you today.  Wroking with the My Guy collection has been so much fun!  Talk about getting out of my comfort level though!  Masculine pages like I said last week are NOT easy for me at all!  Am I ever glad that I only have a daughter, it sure make my layouts alot easier!  So this time around I did a heavily distressed page.  I love the way it turned out but getting there was alot harder than it normally is!  But I guess that is the great thing about being on a design team you never know what you are going to get to play with and I do enjoy a challenge!  Here is what I came up with this week...

I cut out a few words from the My Guy PreCut Set for the title which I colored with smooch ink and I also added Glossy Accents to add alittle bit extra pop to the title.  As you can see I deeply distressed all the edges by stamping the grass from the Scenery Builder PreCut Set all along the edges of the page.  Then I crumpled up the edges ran my distresser along the edges and inked all the edges and creases in black.  I also created a dog ear to add the Western Collage PreCut Set to the edge, here is a close-up...

For the last close-up of the day here is the gorgeous horse stamp from the Western Bronco PreCut Set that I colored using copic markers and prisma crayons.  I cut it out using the coordinating Western Bronco Die.

Happy Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Hello everyone in blog land, sorry I haven't been around much lately but I do have a good excuse we recently got back from a wonderful and amazing trip to Mexico.  My brother's family, mine and my parents!  What a wonderful time.  I have tons of pictures to scrap from my trip so you should be seeing some starting soon.  This is going to be a very short post as I forgot to get it ready ahead of time and it is almost beadtime for me... 14 hour work days are just NO FUN!  Well here is what I came up for this week.

I always struggle with masculine pages so I decided to do a very simple page and I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.  Details on how to create a similar page are posted as always on the Heartfelt Creations Blog and while you are there why not vote for your favorite HC designer, the 5 favorites will stay on for another term!  Well that is it for me for this time but thank you so very much for stopping by my blog!

Best Friends with Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  Boy time is flying these days!  I hardly noticed a whole week went by before I had a chance to blink!  Well since today is Wedensday I get to share my latest project for Heartfelt Creations!  As it happens Craft your passion challenge blog is having a Anything goes week so I am also submitting this page there.  I love playing along with challenges around blog land!  This week I chose to do a layout... I tried to keep it fairly simple as these photo's that Linda and Emma Lou sent me where so fabulous that I wanted a page that would complement the photo's and not overpower the page.  Here is what I came up with.

A few tips to keep in mind... when using designer paper with a design in the corner, even if you don't plan on using it try to save it for use on a future project the fussy cut flowers were left over from another project.  and they fit perfectly on this page.  At least in my mind it works.  Here are the rest of the instructions on how this page came together.

Directions: Trim a 1/2 inch on one top and side of the cream cardstock and layer on a 12x12 sheet of grey cardstock. Cut a 2nd strip of grey cardstock to about 6 inches and punch the Scallop Edgabilities die with insert on both sides. Cut a strip of pattern paper to fit inside and glue together. Fussy cut some flowers for a second sheet of paper and arrange along the edge of the strip on the one side. Once you have decided where the strip will be on the page stamp the Bella Rosebuds along the top and bottom of the fussy cut flowers with Victorian Velvet and color in with Copic markers. Glue the strip to the cardstock base. Round the corners of the main picture and mat using grey and pink cardstock, cut a smaller photo using the circle dies, alternating between the Standard small and large dies provides you with less of a gap between the layers. Add the photos and the rub-on title to the strip. Cut 2 small strips of pink and grey cardstock and round on corner and place as shown above the main strip. Stamp the rosebuds along the top and bottom and color with copics, Using the pattern paper from the strip, stamp and cut out starting from the smallest petal sizes cut out 2 small botanical flowers, 3 the next size up, 3 the next size up and 2 the next size up. Shape the petals to create the roses, stamp and punch 8 leaves and arrange around the flowers.

As always creating flowers is an essential part of any of my scapbook pages and although this one doesn't have as many as I usually fit on a page it doesn't make them any less stunning in my opinion.  I just love making these roses, they are my go to flower more often then not!
