Good morning! Well we are half way through another week! I'm looking forward to the weekend and getting ready for next week when we get to show you the new releases for September! I am so excited about this one and I am sure that you will be too! I can't beleive I've been blessed to be part of this wonderful design team for almost 6 months already! Time sure flies when you are having fun... If you are interested in being part of the best team EVER, check out the
HC blog for details on how to apply!
Here are my projects for this week. As always details with a step by step for these projects are available on the Heartfelt Creations blog along with all the GORGEOUS projects created by my teamates, make sure you check them out!
First off let me show you the card that I made! I love the way this one came out, it is definitely shabby chic, at least I believe it is! The papers are from Basic Gray that I was hording for a while. The candle was made with the same sheet of paper! I love making the most out of my pattern paper especially when it is so pretty! I colored the image with my copic markers but I really wanted the ring to be gold and I didn
't have the right copics for that so I chose the color in my ring with my favorite gold pen! The diamond is really glittery in real life thanks to stickles! I used my edge distresser along all the edges and then crumpled the edges of the papers to give a truly distressed look.
The candle was a little more complicated to make... I was learning about image transfers in my Art Journaling class and I started thinking on how I cool it would be to use that technique on something other than my journal! I just love learning new techniques and I love trying to expand on what I learn. I decided that I could do it on a candle. My first attempt failed miserably. I applied the glue added my paper, waited patiently for the glue to dry, then when I started tearing off the paper it just pulled all off! I racked my brain... not being one to give up so quickly I thought that maybe there needed to be something for the glue to hold on to. The candle is just to slick! I scuffed up the whole candle using a needle and then tried again... well that worked and I love the way it looks! Definitely shabby and oh so pretty! Make sure if you try this that you rub away the paper very gently so you get the best coverage on the candle and watch out for air bubbles in the Mod Podge but other then that it is so easy... once you know what you are doing ;)
I decided to add the belly band to the candle with a little tag. Here is a close up of the tag... I will definitely be creating more of these candles. I love that I can make them match whatever I want! A fun and easy gift idea.
Well with that thanks for looking and I hope the rest of your week flies by! Don't forget to see what the rest of the team came up with this week
here. I am playing along with a few challenges this week, there is always so much inspiration on the various challenge blogs I just wish I had even more time to play but unfortunately I have to keep my day job... When I win the lottery... I will spend my days playing with papers in beautiful scraproom of my new mansion... when I'm not lounging by the huge pool, LOL, I know I have a vivid imagination!
