I did a layout for this week and I have to say these new dies are fabulous on card but to me they belong on pages!  Wow it is going to be hard to do a page without using these dies!  I am in LOVE!  I'll let you in on a little secret!  My first attempt with these dies went horribly!  I did not like it at all!  But then I saw Emma Lou's tutorial and what a difference the waxed paper makes!!  If you purchase these dies nake sure you check out the tutorial!  The new flowers are so pretty too!  Well here is what I created!

The pictures were sent to me by Linda, this is Emma Lou and her darling husband!  They are such an adorable couple!  I was so inspired that I just had to play with this one first!  I have a few more so stay tuned for some more of these wonderful photos!  So I used the Scalloped Posy die in a few different ways on this, the flexibility of these dies are amazing!  Here is a close-up of the gorgeous flowers I created!  I love making my own flowers!

Don't forget to leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog letting them know what you think of this new release for your chance to win the entire collection!!

LMCB #63 - Earth Tones and Sepia!

Wow what a fun challenge we have in store for you this week... Lasting Memories is challenging you to use a sepia photo and use only earth tones on your layout!  I hardly ever scrap with Sepia photo's I don't know why I guess I just don't think about it but as it stands I had recently printed the PERFECT photo for this challenge!  Here is the story...
A few months ago I was lucky enough to go see one of my favorite Canadian bands!  The Trews!  They played up north in Cochrane no less!  It gets better!  They were staying in the same hotel as us and as luck would have it on the same floor... Now I really love there music and so I was super excited and a little star struck... lol!  OK so they are not Nickelback but in my opinion they SHOULD be!  Me and my darling boyfriend... who thinks I'm nuts (debatable) went for a walk around town before the concert and we ran into a few of the guys from the band so I just had to get a few shots!  Here is one of me and Georges with the guys... I only had a disposable camera with me I know... gasp so the picture was not the best... after playing around in Picnik for a while this is what I came up with!  An old salon type picture which I seriously LOVE!

I was also inspired by the color board are Color Combo's Galore this week.

Here is the page...

I really had a lot of fun putting this page together!  I used alot of layers, alot of inks and mists and paint!  Fabrics and anything else that I could find!  Can I just say this is one of my favorite pages that I have create in a while and it doesn't even have flowers on it... well except in the top corner I used some modeling paste and a stencil to add a little extra dimension on this project!  Here is a close up of how that turned out!

Here are a few more close-ups of all the different layers and embellisment...

Well I hope you will join us this week and create a project... Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Happy Heartfelt Wednesday!

Well It is that time again and I am so happy to be able to share a few projects with you this week! I doubled up on my DT duties this week as the theme this week at  Lasting Memories is to use the word "Cherish" on your layout... I found a fabulous sketch at Let's Capture These Sketches... The swirls on the sketch just screamed Heartfelt Creations to me so I had to follow along... I got out some Glitz papers and started playing around.  It felt great to play with flowers again.  I may have gotten carried away but I just love the way this page came together.  Here is the layout I created this week.  As always there is a step by step on how to create both these projects on the Heartfelt Creations Blog.

And here is a close-up of one of the flower cluster...

Aren't these flowers so cute!  I just love the way they came out... so here is the second cluster created with these gorgeous blooms!!!  And the best part Easy Peasy!!  These were so quick and simple to create... I love making my own blooms because I know they will match my layout perfectly everytime.

Now a quick look at the title work...  I had a little trouble with the title... I must have switched it around my page a dozen times and it looked out of place EVERYWHERE!!  Finally I settled for on the picture and I think it looks pretty good there!

For my second project I created this super quick Christmas treat basket.  Works perfectly to hold a few candies or... mini candy canes would look great in here as well.

and from the side...

Well thank you for joining me again this week!  Some quick news about the November HC release.

It's Wednesday again!

Welcome to another Happy Heartfelt Wednesday!  I'm so happy to be sharing this super cute and super fun layout with all of you today!  I fell in love with the sketch over at Sketchabilies... as soon as I saw it I just new that it would work perfectly with these new christmas stamps that I am COMPLETELY in love with!  They are just way to much fun to play with and color!

Of course you can find all the details on how to recreate this page for yourself and of course this includes the copic markers that I played with... Here I am getting ahead of myself again!  Here is the page!

I love these old photos of my baby... she looked so sweet... of course she is still so sweet but I miss having a little one that is completely dependant on you... It seams to me the years just fly by way to quickly!  How I would live to slow down time.

I think that for me the key to being able to combine all these stamps is simply to use the exact same markers on all the different elements that way is all sort of feeds off of each other as opposed to competing for attention!  I really love the way this all came together...

Here are the individual images

Well I hope that you enjoyed seeing my project this week and don't forget to see what the rest of the designers came up with!  You are definately in for a treat!  Don't forget next week we will me unveiling the next collection of MUST HAVE stamps!  I hope you will stop by and check them out!

Thank you for stoping by my blog just remember we are half way through this week!  I personally can't wait to get through this week!

Chow for Now!!

LMCB #58 - Recipe Time with a Twist

Well it's a brand new week and I'm so excited to share with you a brand new projects this week and I really hope that you will join me and playing along with this amazing recipe that Kare has cooked up for us!

This week we're challenging you with a recipe:
  • (1) photo - Mine is is my daughter learning to skate
  • (2) embellishments of choice - I've gone for flowers (of course) and lace
  • (3) colors of choice - I've followed the swirlyhues pallet and sketch for this one... going for a Yellow, Blue and Brown scheme.
And if that was not enough as a twist we'd like to see SONG LYRICS of YOUR choice, somewhere on your layout!!!  Mine was easy as soon as I picked out the picture that I was going to play with I couldn't help signing Everyone needs a Hand to Hold on To by John Mellancamp!  I just adore that song!

Here is how this page came together...

Check out the Introduction to Swirlyhues on the Swirlydoo blog for details on how you can join in to the fun too!  I tried my best to follow the story board...

Did you know that Yellow and Blue make Green!  I know that in kindergarden but when I started playing around with this page I somehow forgot this very important peice of information and that is how I wound up with the green in the edges of the paper... somehow the more blue I tried to add to the corners the more dark the GREEN became!  Oh well you can't win them all!  Here is a pic of the flower cluster.  I started with a vine and added a few roses to fill it in... as always I have a have a hard time stoping once I've started... LOL

Well that is it for me!  Thanks for stoping by and I hope you have as much fun with the recipe as I had!  I look forward to seeing what you come up with!  Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great week!!

Chow for now!!
